Morgan appeared in a documentary film Safe Sex for Men and Women about AIDS prevention and education. Part of the proceeds went towards the American Foundation for AIDS Research. She serves as a member of the Entertainment Industry AIDS Task Force. Morgan was the main force in many fundraising campaigns to fight the disease. Morgan also gave a speech to the Congressional special committee on AIDS education. Morgan is member of the Board of Governors of APLA and the Board of Directors of Amfar. C. Everett Koop's former assistant surgeon general asked occasionally to be his substitute during AIDS awareness events. In addition, she was the host of an AIDS Awareness Special with Steve Bell. Ted Koppell has interviewed her several times on AIDS during Nightline. Morgan is nominated to be the Emmy recipient for her role in Diane English's Murphy Brown Special Episode written especially for Morgan. In spring, she was a guest alongside Joan Rivers on ABC's Your Money or Your Wife. She then started the summer by starring in Murder At The PTA Luncheon which was produced by Von Zerneck/Sertner. The show also starred Cindy Williams and Marla Gibbs. Her next project sent Morgan to Luxembourg for Harmony Gold's production Sherlock Holmes and the Leading Lady that also featured Christopher Lee and Patrick McNee. Morgan also starred as the main character in a thriller about psychological issues that was solely produced through the USA Network. It received one of the best ratings recorded in network history.
